Every
year for the past seven years the CWHBA - Alberta Chapter has
sponsored a breeder's sale in the European tradition of Warmblood
Horses. The Sale Committee is happy to announce the Eighth
Annual Sale to be held at Olds, Alberta (one hour
north of the Calgary International Airport) on October 13
& 14th, 2002.
This is the perfect opportunity
for you to find a personal warmblood for your sport or for breeder's
to select top breeding stock. In addition, it is an excellent
opportunity for trainers and coaches looking for warmblood horses
for their clients.
You can observe young registered
warmbloods from the world's top bloodlines in the chute - to
evaluate jumping technique, in hand - to evaluate gaits,
and in demonstrations - to evaluate show style. You will
also have an opportunity to ride your selections to test for
rideability and suitability.
As in the European tradition,
the horses entered in this sale represent some of the best production
of our warmblood breeding programs.
We follow another European tradition: the Saturday night GALA.
You will enjoy dressage demonstrations, pattern riding with the
sale horses, and a three-bars jumping competition featuring young
warmbloods. The GALA evening is concluded with a wine and cheese
where the major topic is warmblood horses.
In the past our US buyers have
been able to capitalize on the weaker Canadian dollar to purchase
quality horses for a very reasonable prices. The importation
of Canadian horses to the US is a simple procedure involving
federal health papers and a negative Coggins.
There will be transportation
companies at the sale to assist in trucking arrangements for
your purchases.
This is your chance to evaluate 50 to 70 top quality warmblood
prospects and breeding stock in one weekend.
Some of the performance horses
will have x-rays on hand, and there will be a Vet on site to
assist with pre-purchase exams and x-ray evaluations. There is
a health and conformation inspection, and enforced drug rule
in place for all sale entries.
